This site is owned and operated by Hook Allotments Association, a UK based community company. The site is constructed using WordPress and is hosted in the UK.

Data Protection

New data protection laws (GDPR) came into effect during May 2018. The committee have been looking at the personal data we hold on our members, how we hold it and how we use it, to ensure that Hook Allotment Association (HAA) comply with the updated legislation. We (the committee) have carried out an audit of where this information is held, who has access to it and confirmed that it is secure to the best of our abilities

Data Protection Policy

Since HAA has a legitimate business interest in collecting basic personal data in order to carry out the management of Hook Allotments Association and its membership, we are not required to gain specific approval by members to gather, store or use that information as long as it relates directly to the business of the association.

The information HAA holds includes but is not limited to Full Name, Address, Telephone Number, Email address, plot number, plot size and value of fees due/paid.

 

We will hold your details on file for the duration of your membership and for up to 3 years following the termination of that membership providing all dues have been paid and keys returned.

If you wish to view the data we hold on you at any time, please send in a request to info@hookallotments.com. We will aim to respond to your request within 14 days

If you have any questions or issues relating to this or If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please do get in touch with the committee via info@hookallotments.com. We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.

Please be aware that if you contact a committee member directly (either by telephone or email) rather than through the formal HAA mailbox, your details may be automatically stored in those email or phone contacts and cannot be controlled through this policy. Please also note, this policy does not cover those situations where committee members may hold contact details of HAA members who are known to them personally as well as through the HAA.
